Durante d\u00e9cadas, el reciclaje<\/strong> se ha presentado como la mejor soluci\u00f3n para combatir el creciente volumen de residuos. Hoy sabemos que no es la mejor soluci\u00f3n<\/strong>. El ritmo acelerado de generaci\u00f3n de residuos evidencia que ya no resulta suficiente para hacer frente a los retos de la econom\u00eda circular. Su tratamiento crece a un ritmo 5 veces inferior (E-waste Monitor)<\/strong>, lo que indica no solo una sobreproducci\u00f3n, sino una menor capacidad de tratarlos adecuadamente<\/strong>.

Ante este paradigma, RREUSE<\/strong>, la red europea de reutilizaci\u00f3n, reparaci\u00f3n y reacondicionamiento, est\u00e1 mirando m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de los objetivos tradicionales de reciclaje e impulsa mecanismos que permiten incorporar objetivos <\/b>espec\u00edficos de reutilizaci\u00f3n y preparaci\u00f3n para la reutilizaci\u00f3n<\/b>\u00a0de los aparatos el\u00e9ctricos y electr\u00f3nicos. <\/p>

Para ayudar a entender este enfoque, la denominada pir\u00e1mide invertida <\/b>resulta clave: mientras un producto sigue siendo un recurso con valor, no es un residuo<\/b>.\u00a0El consumidor juega un papel significativo en esta frontera difusa pero esencial.

En definitiva, las prioridades han cambiado<\/b>. Es necesario utilizar la jerarqu\u00eda de las 5 R<\/strong>: Reducir, Reparar, Remanufacturar, Reciclar y Rechazar falsos alegatos de sostenibilidad, con el fin de extender la vida \u00fatil <\/b>de los productos. Solo tiene sentido reciclar cuando estos ya no pueden aprovecharse de otro modo, dejando el aprovechamiento energ\u00e9tico como \u00faltimo recurso.

Los objetivos<\/strong> son claros:
\u2705Que lo que desechamos sea lo m\u00ednimo imprescindible.
\u2705Evitar que el reciclaje sea la primera soluci\u00f3n cuando un producto todav\u00eda puede seguir siendo funcional.

The rapid pace of waste generation shows that it is no longer enough to meet the challenges of the circular economy. Waste treatment is growing at a rate five times slower (E-waste Monitor), indicating not only overproduction, but also a lower capacity to treat it properly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

RREUSE<\/strong>, is looking beyond traditional recycling targets and promoting mechanisms that allow for the incorporation of specific targets for reuse and preparation for reuse<\/strong> of electrical and electronic equipment.<\/p>\n

To help understand this approach, the so-called inverted pyramid<\/strong> is key: as long as a product remains a valuable resource, it is not waste<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In short, priorities have changed<\/strong>. It is necessary to use the 5 R<\/strong> hierarchy: Reduce, Repair, Remanufacture, Recycle and Reject false claims of sustainability, in order to extend the useful life<\/strong> of products.<\/p>\n

The objectives <\/b>are clear:
\u2705That what we throw away is the bare minimum.
\u2705Avoid recycling as the first solution when a product can still be functional.<\/p>\n
