IT’S NO LONGER ENOUGH TO SAY THE RIGHT THING
Ya no vale con decir lo correcto
El 27 de septiembre entró en vigor la Directiva ECGT (UE) 2024/825, una normativa europea orientada a reforzar la protección del consumidor frente a prácticas de greenwashing y afirmaciones ambientales que puedan resultar engañosas.
🔵 Directiva ECGT:
Aunque su transposición al ordenamiento jurídico de cada Estado miembro todavía está en proceso —como ocurre en España y en otros países—, esto no significa que la Directiva no entre en vigor.
El mensaje es claro: no se puede decir al consumidor que algo es sostenible si no es verdad.
Contenido reciclado, reutilización, sostenibilidad, circularidad… Las afirmaciones sobre las características ambientales de un producto deben responder a la realidad y poder demostrarse.

🔵 ECGT Directive:
Although its transposition into the legal framework of each Member State is still underway—as is the case in Spain and other countries—this does not mean that the Directive does not enter into force.
The message is clear: you cannot tell consumers that something is sustainable if it is not true.
Recycled content, reuse, sustainability, circularity… Claims about the environmental characteristics of a product must reflect reality and be demonstrable.
